If you don’t know about Meetup yet, get this. It’s a chance for you to meet with other like-minded individuals to talk about those things that really interest you, like photography, game design or whatever. In my case, it’s web design and we meet once a month.

That said, we are looking for speakers to come and talk to the group about various web-related topics. contact me If you’re interested in participating or know someone who might be.

It’s easy to under estimate the power of a pen and paper.
here is a simple web design rule:
don’t forget to sketch it out on paper before typing a single line of code!
This is more or less a reminder to myself!
The guys at deeplinking have a blog post titled, the paper version of the web with sample sketches.
If you follow web development, you probably already know about javaScript and the open source libraries available such as jQuery, MooTools & Scriptaculous. From these javascript libraries, jQuery is my favorite because it’s light weight and easy to understand, which is very important when you’re trying to hack it to pieces
I’m very excited about the future of jQuery as Microsoft and Nokia start to bundle it with their programs. That’s right, Microsoft has said it will ship Visual Studio 2008 and add intellisense support for jQuery. How awesome is that?!
There are thousands of websites out there that could use a little face lift and I think jQuery is the ticket for rapid, modern, web UI development.
