Jeff from Softies on Rails, wrote a blog post discussing code source control, From VSS to SVN: Part 1. In his post, he also asks “how many of you out there are using Windows for your Rails development, and how many have switched to a Mac (at least for purposes of learning Rails)?”
I was very surprised that he didn’t ask if anyone was using Linux to develop on Rails; so I quickly added a comment on his blog about switching to Linux and using Fedora and Ubuntu. After reading a few other comments, I was happy to see that others had also made the switch to Linux.
For me, switching to Linux has been fun and challenging at the same time; and I’m sure that developing my first Ruby on Rails application on Linux will be even more juicy and exciting!
