Windows Mobile 6

I recently upgraded my mobile phone (Cingular 8525) to run WM6! The most exciting feature for me is HTML e-mail; now I can see all those embedded pictures in full glory

My phone feels brand new again!

just for today

I will dress up for holloween.

the server is down!

This one goes out to all my fellow geeks who manage IT systems.

notes from Naples

If I had to pick the single most interesting thing about Naples, it would be the traffic; to be more specific, it would be the way the scooters manuever around this bustling city.

The scooters:
Most of the scooters on the road are “Vespas”, and can be heard and seen cruising all over town, including sidewalks. Traffic lights are nothing but decorations around here. The scooters often times have 2 people in them and sometimes you can see the passenger from one scooter talking to passengers of other scooters.

The cars:
Italian cars have always held a special place in my heart; after all this is the birthplace of the Ferrari, Opel, Lancia, Mazerari, Alfa Romeo and Fiat. Cars here have a much smaller footprint, than U.S. Counterparts; which is ideal for dealing with tiny and narrow side streets.
Note: a typical police vehicle is either a Fiat or an Alfa Romeo.

I’m writting this from the train back to Rome. We are on the Eurostar, which is a high-speed, non stop train and it’s awesome.

I will post pictures of all this of course.

Ciao

Things have been quiet around here for awhile, mainly because I’ve been really busy getting things done for my trip to Italy.

AnaLuisa and I flew to Rome on Saturday and we’ll be here all week. Upon arriving into Rome, we took the train to Termini (the center of Rome), then took the subway to our hotel located near the Spanish Steps.

The spanish steps in Rome, ItalyAfter getting settled, we headed out to dinner and took a walk down to the Spanish Steps just as I had planned (Keep in mind, she had no idea of what was about to happen). Once we arrived at the top of the steps, we were approached by one of the many flower vendors and got a few flowers for AnaLuisa. We continued down the steps and took seating about half way down to take in the lively atmosphere. There were a bunch of people relaxing, drinking beer and wine (from corked bottles) and kids of all ages having a good old time.

It was late and AnaLuisa was getting tired, so I knew it was time to do what I came here for; The moment was right so I decided to just come out and say it despite a small pinch of nervousness.

I have something to tell you. baby, we’ve been together for a while now and you know I love you and that you are my best friend. Will you marry me?

I was delighted to hear her answer, ‘yes’. Then we hugged and gave each other short soft kisses. Funny thing, she wasn’t tired after that moment anymore and we stayed around a bit longer.

We’re going to Naples tomorrow, I’ll try to write more later.
